AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM: Spring Session 2026 IES
AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM: Spring Session 2026 IES
Students will work together to create solutions to problems using higher order thinking, teamwork, creativity, research skills, programming, and technology. Our students learn that science cannot operate in a bubble and it takes all kinds of people working together to solve the world’s problems. Our community works together, takes care of each other, and helps each other learn and grow regardless of age and gender. We understand that the best scientists are well rounded individuals so as much as we love building robots and shooting off rockets, we understand the importance of engaging in a wide range of fun activities.
Mondays - MINECRAFT EDUCATION: students will learn basic coding skills and create their own games. Coding is a basic literacy in the digital age, and it is important for kids to work with and understand the technology around them. Having children learn coding at a young age prepares them for the future and helps them with communication, creativity, math, writing, and confidence.
Tuesdays - TBD
Wednesdays - ROBOTICS: step into the exciting world of robotics! In this class students learn to build and program their own robots using LEGO robotic kits and kid-friendly coding platforms. From buzzing bots to obstacle course racers, students will tackle fun challenges that bring science, technology, and creativity to life. They will develop critical skills in problem-solving, engineering, teamwork, and coding - all while having a blast designing robots that move, sense, and react! Perfect for curious minds who love to tinker, build, and explore how things work.
Thursdays - TBD
Fridays - POKEMON LEAGUE & GAME CLUB: Lovers of Pokemon will gather together to play, trade, and compete in a casual and friendly setting. Trainers of all skill levels will learn, practice, and participate in organized events. Game lovers of all sorts can explore Dungeons & Dragons, board games, trading card games, learn game design and create their own games.
